Going on a sashimi run

If you are in Romblon, you should definitely ask your dive guide about the sashimi shrimps. These tiny, delicate shrimps come in an incredible array of colours, and the tails of some of them look almost exactly like little pieces of sashimi you’d find in a sushi restaurant. But the best part is how they’re presented. During night dives, the guides often find one shrimp after another and show them to you individually — basically serving them up like a sushi conveyor belt, except everything is alive and underwater. After a while, we started calling these night dives “sushi runs”. And honestly, once you’ve seen your guide proudly presenting the next colourful shrimp for inspection, it’s hard to call them anything else.
